Los Angeles Galaxy

"We have been amazed at the growth in skills since our two girls have joined
NMSC.  They understand the game of soccer and their ball handling skills
have seen significant improvement.  Most of all, they really enjoy the
game!"

Welcome to the Newport Mesa Soccer Academy.

The Newport Mesa Soccer Academy provides your child the opportunity to learn soccer from the  Los Angeles Galaxy’s Chris Klein.  Chris has been successful at every level of the game, and now your child has the opportunity to learn and interact with him at every session.

The curriculum that has been established for the academy revolves around four key concepts that are as simple as they are brilliant.

1.  Keep it fun - Make the players want to keep coming back.

2.  Fundamentals - Players that are successful at every level have a strong technical foundation.

3.  Measurable success - This is very motivating to the younger player.

4.  Not overly intense - we don't want players to burn out.

The Academy should be used in conjunction with a youth recreational gaming circuit, such as AYSO.  Games are a very valuable tool in your child’s soccer development but equally, if not more important, is proper soccer instruction.  That is the element that sometimes is missing in most recreational organizations.  In recreational organizations, teams are usually coached by a parent volunteer.  Some parents have never played or coached soccer and do the best that they can, using ideas out of a coaching manual.  Soccer is a very complex game that doesn’t have set plays or time-outs.  It requires a deep understanding of the game to successfully educate the younger player.  Our staff has mastered the methodology of teaching the game as well as the ability to organize a dynamic training session that limits the amount of time that is spent standing in lines, thus maximizing the amount of time that each player is in contact with the ball.

The Academy is structured in a way that allows families the flexibility that is needed in these crazy times.  Each age group has 2 practice days per week, and your child can attend as many or as few of those as you would like.
